The places to stay are unevenly spread across the three neighbourhoods: four in Ano, at 1,100 metres and closer to the road to the ski centre; fifteen in Mesaia, around the square; six in Kato, at the entrance to the village as you climb from Xylokastro. Most are stone guesthouses with a fireplace and independent heating. On winter weekends and holidays they fill up — call early.
