Where to eat
Traditional tavernas, grills and home-cooked dishes in the three villages — with a fireplace in winter and views of the mountain. Call to book, especially at weekends.
In Ano, in Mesaia or in Kato
In the three villages the tavernas work mainly with grills, home-cooked dishes and local produce. In winter the fireplace is the rule, and at weekends they fill up.
You will find traditional tavernas and a pizzeria — from “Opos Palia” and “Stou Dekleri” to “To Petrino” and “A la… Choriata”. On the tables come the meat of the day and lamb chops, lamb baked in a clay pot, twisted cheese pie and dishes of the day; at the pizzeria the dough is made by hand.
Call before you go — especially out of season: quite a few places mainly open at weekends and on holidays.
